History of Akron in the IBL
A team called the Akron Lightning played in the IBL's inaugural 2005 season.  Leading scorers for Akron in 2005 were as follows:  Jason Edwin 21.8 points per game, Kevin Kovach 20.2, nate Schindewolf 17.4, Rashaun Warren 16.8, and Anthony Jackson 15.8.  Akron did not play in 2006.  The Cuyahoga Falls Cougars (unrelated to Akron Lightning) joined the IBL in 2006.  The Cougars played 20 games, averagin between 400 and 500 fans for their home contests.  At the end of the 2006 season, Cougars owner Marc Cook announced that for the 2007 season the Cuyahoga Falls Cougars will play in Akron.  The new team name for the '07 season will be the Akron Cougars.
