About the International Basketball League:
|
The IBL is entering its fourth season of play in 2008. The IBL features some of the most exciting basketball on the planet-with subtle rule changes and fantastic athletes resulting in IBL teams scoring an average of 127 points per game and these games last just two hours. The IBL's dynamic brand of basketball is due in part- to two key rules: 1) An immediate inbound rule which gets the ball in play as fast as possible and 2) IBL teams are limited to one timeout per quarter. Both of these rules promote a flowing, up-tempo style of play by greatly reducing breaks in the action.
An IBL game's high intensity and relatively short duration make it an exciting entertainment option for sports fans of all ages.
The IBL places a premium on efficiency that allows our owners to play a varied schedule while flying only once per season. Our teams are located in strategic, regional clusters. This allows a traveling team to fly into a region and play several different opponents within driving distance in a short duration (4 teams in 4 days). This efficient set-up also makes it possible for teams from Asia to join the IBL while still flying only one time. In short, the IBL offers team owners across Asia the unique opportunity to schedule intriguing, international games at home and in America while keeping operating costs under control.
|
For already existing Asian team owners- the IBL offers 3 different options for you to compete in and/or against the IBL:
|
1. Host a team of IBL All-Stars! The IBL would send a team of all-star players from our league to play against your professional team as soon as this December. The IBL is quickly becoming one of the most talent-rich basketball leagues in the U.S., with more talent than ever on board for 2008. Your team will face challenging competition that could give you a competitive advantage for next year's season, while also offering your fans the intrigue of international competition. If you are interested in inviting the IBL compete against your team or would like more information then please contact us today. The IBL team would be willing to play up to 5 games in a 7 day period. Costs can be arranged.
2. Take your professional team to a new level in America! Your professional team will have the opportunity to play 18 games in as few as 25 days in the IBL's northwestern cluster during the month of March, April, May, or June. You will stay in major cities like Seattle and Portland and enjoy a wonderful touring package which includes tickets to several NBA games, a trip to a Seattle Mariners baseball game, one night stay at a million dollar beach house on the Oregon coast, several trips to specialty clothing stores, a water park and other activities. Your team will not only compete against IBL teams, but you will also have a great team bonding experience while our American guide takes you around the cities and countryside. This trip also gives your coaching staff an inside look at possible players that they may want to select for your season back in Asia. You will be able to select foreign (American) players to play alongside your team if you choose to, or you can simply scout the opponents and talk to any player you want, after the games. A representative from the IBL can help you select specific player types that you would want to take a closer look at. This trip to America does not have a cost yet. You would however, have to pay for your own airline tickets for at least 11 players and 2 coaches. All assistance with proper visa invitational letters will be provided for by the IBL. Your team will be an official member of the IBL regular season and will participate in the 2008 IBL standings and statistics (you will be a full member team in the IBL).. If you are interested in this unique opportunity, then please visit our website or e-mail us today and we can determine a price within a few days.
3. Joining for a regular schedule where you have 10 away games but 10 home games as well- Join the International Basketball League! Become a full-fledged member of the IBL. Play a full IBL schedule with 10 home games and 10 away games. Your team would fly one time to a selected cluster and complete your entire road schedule on that trip which should not last more than 17 days. Your home schedule would be filled by 3 visiting American IBL teams that would play you three times apiece (one team would play you, a fourth time). To join the IBL as a full, normal member, you will need a translator to go over our documents. The only thing that will differ (in our American documents) differs is the price. You see, American teams pay $22,000 in yearly dues to play in the IBL but Asian teams would probably be looking at yearly dues around $48,000 to subsidize the travel of the three American teams.
